University research conference

It was our University research conference today. Here there was very good representation from my School, and in particular from my research group.

My colleague Bill took this picture of some of us at the start of the event. We were all looking forward to the day ahead at this point, and were not disappointed with the sessions that followed. There were some really excellent presentations, the posters were well-prepared, the catering was first rate, and there was stimulating debate in the workshops. The School of Computing also did very well at the awards ceremony at the close of the conference.

Afterwards Brian, Frances and I met two of the other facilitator/speakers for a (different) event that we are hosting tomorrow. We enjoyed dinner together at Bia Bistrot in Merchiston.

According to Brian, however, the biggest event of the day was my introduction to Uber.

Exercise today: a little walking between campuses (7428 steps).
