Friends, Old and New

Today one of my special longest standing friends, "the film star", had a long and complicated operation, what a joy to know she is back on the ward, we are all so grateful...

Tonight a massive meal (the Portuguese know how to eat!) at the house of new friends here in Mourão; continue to be impressed and moved by the hospitality and generosity of these people... and the fact that most of the food, and the sangria, was made by the men... garlic prawns and coriander clams and beldroegas (a wild spinach) and cheese soup, and cheese and bread and chorizo - and that was just the starters...

In the extra, a selfie (!) of my new haircut, bit short, but reckon I lost about a kilo - a relief in the heat.
