Black Isle Wildlife Adventure

A lovely bright morning and feeling quite warm. I met up with fellow blippers suejay50 and Terrifo and friend Jane in Avoch. We waited in the sunshine and then boarded the little boat ready for a trip out to hopefully see some dolphins. Great views on the way and as we rode further out Gwyn spotted some dolphins in the distance. He slowed down and they came over to say hello. They were right near to the boat and the water was so clear you could see them underneath the water as they swam under the boat.
We stayed dry, well most of us ;) and returned safely to shore. It was then on to the Tollie Red Kite. We were in plenty of time before feeding time so we sat at the benches and watched the small birds on the feeders including some pretty Yellow hammers, baby blue tits,  coal tits ,chaffinches and a woodpecker.
Sandy, the RSPB volunteer, arrived and then went to put the small pieces of meat on the feeding table. Gulls were the first to take a feed and then the Red Kites that had been circling above our heads began swooping down to take their share, Soooo fast and not easy to photograph but a great experince. There must have been about 10 altogether which was great especially as the females would still be on the nest.
Thank you Sue,Terri and Jane for a fab day out :)))
