Me and Mother headed to Oxford in the morning. A beautiful morning!

We arrived in Oxford - I showed her where Graham used to live, then we had coffee in Blackwells and debated which is nicer: the smell of coffee or the smell of books. We ended up swaying slightly towards books but it's a pretty close call.

It was the last weekend of Jenny Saville at MAO so we went there next, and Graham met us. Lunch by the river. Someone who shall remain nameless (not me or Graham) sat in goose poo. Other than that, a lovely lunch in the sun. We had a walk along the river, then Graham disappeared for a few hours (this was arranged, we didn't just lose him). Me and the madre did the rounds at the Ashmolean, then some Oxfam Bookshops, then the Blackwells Art Shop, then a general wander and a sit down opposite Christ Church College.

Graham rejoined us and we had a quick drink and chat before Mama Bear headed for the train, and we headed for Graham's house. I met a couple of his housemates, we ate a burnt pizza and watched QI, did some reading (I'm making progress with Anna K), then tried to sleep through the audio book blasting out from his housemates laptop downstairs.

Oh, and this is my mum outside OUP. Her great-grandparents lived in the rooms above it in the late 1800s, which is pretty cool. In the time it took her to cross the road for this picture, a bus pulled in front of me, then a gazillion tourists walked past, then a squillion cyclists... had to wait quite a while before she was actually visible.
