Surprise

A fun day at work - answering questions, arranging meetings and getting things done.

And then this afternoon I was told about a Brilliant Program that someone on another team had written and how we should definitely adapt that program to do something that we need.  Turned out that said program was a complete rip-off of something I had written in 2014.  It even had the same typos in the comments.

That was quite a nice moment.

And then this afternoon, it was lovely to leave at 3:30.

However, I am on call from 4 tomorrow morning.  And I've already been warned that I will get phoned at 4 because something will go wrong.  I will not be able to do anything about it & I won't be able to fix it because I don't have the right access.  It has to be sent to another team, who DO have the access.

I can't be alone in thinking that this problem should never come anywhere near me. It should have been built in, that the people who CAN fix this, either fix it in advance or fix it when it goes wrong tomorrow.

Or am I being incredibly stupid?
