On Call

The best bit about being on-call is when no one phones.  And given that the things I'm responsible for run at 4 in the morning, I was delighted to wake up this morning to a cat meowing and not to a phone call.

And maybe I felt the anxiety recede a bit.  It'll probably ambush me in the middle of the night, but for now, I feel pretty ok.

Tonight Deutschland play Sweden in the World Cup.  They really need to win (they are the reigning champions).

The mood here before the competition was optimisitic - Deutschland's nemesis in any tournament has always been Italy and italy did not qualify for this tournament.

Who knocked Italy out of qualifying?

Sweden.

It could be a fraught evening.
