Remembrance

A dank and dreary wet day and the 32nd anniversary of the Air India Disaster. I didn't go to the 8.03am service this year - the time the bomb exploded but went later to pay my respects. The photographs of many of the 331 victims are displayed adding a suitably mournful air. It is chilling and desperately sad to see how many were children - from babies to teenagers, many travelling home in the school holidays - some unaccompanied. Entire families just wiped out. If you don't know the story there's an article here. The parents that left this bouquet have travelled to West Cork every year since they lost their two precious sons. The garden of remembrance gives them some comfort though the pain has not lessened.

30th anniversary
