Absolutely fabulous

I just love this outburst of fabulous purple beside the pond in Benmore Gardens. I haven't the least idea what the plants are - I suppose I could have burrowed among them for a label, but I didn't, so someone may enlighten me. But their vivid purpleness called to me - and that's an accurate representation of it.

My extra photo is of the water lilies that were planted last year and which look much more like themselves this summer.
