Boat Face

Late this evening I headed to Cardiff Bay to photograph this Boat Face which is a steel boat -an award winning sculpture by Brian Fell - the Cardiff Merchant Seaman's War Memorial is sited in front of the Welsh Parliament.

The memorial takes on different personalities under different lighting conditions, filters and exposure levels. It's very photographed as it's so striking. 

I wanted to try some off camera flash as I like to continue improving photography wise and reading about the subject it's what's required to lift photographs to the next level. The trouble was it was raining and the wireless flash didn't want to come out to play, such that I had to use 'on camera' flash. The resulting photo is straight out of camera and just cropped slightly.
