Beltane

At Beltane in the aulden time, it was the custom gay,
To gather on the village green and hail the festal day,
Huntsman gallant and sheperds grey, dought and blythsome men,
And Lassies blooming fresh and fair cam liltin’ doon the glen,               T
hrough the greenwood haste away,...
Sing aloud the festal lay,
Busk the Beltane banner gay, to Peblis and the play.

A big day for Peebles, its Annual Beltane Festival.

Miss A, in the blue dress, is our charming next door neighbour.   500 schoolchildren take part in the day's events.

Extra:   Cornet Ross used to cut our grass.

The day, thankfully, stayed dry for all the events.

I most certainly should have taken my proper camera with long focus lens!!!   :-(
