Baltimore Museum of Art

We spent a delightful afternoon at this museum followed by a delicious tapas dinner in Fells Point.

This is a sculpture that we came across right after we had finished seeing the many Matisse works that are part of the Cone Collection.  The Cone sisters were wealthy Baltimore spinsters who collected art in the early part of the 20th century.  They were friends with Leo and Gertrude Stein who introduced them to Matisse and Picasso. The 500 works by Matisse in the Cone Collection form the largest and most representative group of his works in the world.

I just love museum light.
