Busy old day after a relaxed breakfast.

Off down to the Borders on a Fungi Foray which, despite the location being seemingly perfect for mushrooms, was virtually fruitless. Though we did play about with a swing, and found some (apparently edible) weird orange fungus.

Back home and a bit of tidying up around the house given we're on hols soon, before cracking on with some more macaroons (chocolate ganache and lime & basil) and pork pies for an evening at Tantallon Castle tomorrow (Monday) for the Lammermuir Festival.

Dinner (ish) at the Lanna Thai in Musselburgh (which in a little over an hour and a half consisted of one round of drinks and a starter - poor girl was rushed off her feet, but we had to go and so cancelled our starters), before another Lammermuir Festival event at St Michael's Kirk in Inveresk - Robert Hardy reading extracts from the Master and Commander books, with interludes of chamber music from the Raeburn Quartet. A really rally entertaining evening.

Home, and up to and beyond midnight sticking the macaroons together, and assembling the pork pie bits (gluten free pastry requires a slightly different technique that means it has to chill a lot longer) and getting them fired through the oven.

And bed.

4 days of work to get through, clearing up a massive to do list, then off to Dover and the Channel Hop on Friday. Cannae wait.
