Bridge over the River Hatea

I had a morning run in Whangarei today; a little chilly. Halfway through the run I could hear but not see a thrush singing loudly in a tree. Eventually, I spotted it near the top of the tree. My photo of it is today's extra.

This evening i went to dinner with my colleagues, and S visited her nephew who stays in Whangarei with his family. A great restaurant near the Town Basin, where the river Hatea has widened and deepened shortly before joining the Whangarei Harbour. As I walked back to the hotel where we are spending a second night, I took a photo of three people crossing the bridge over the river immediately before it widened out into the basin.
