BBQ weather

Every year for the past 26 years, a teacher from Hungary and two or three young students have come to stay in Dunscore. This is part of our link with Hungary through Jane Haining, who was born in our village, went to work with Jewish children in Budapest and died in Auschwitz.

The students tour round sites related to Jane's life and also do a bit of sightseeing in the area. Their first night is traditionally a barbecue at the home of Sheila and Archie Anderson, and here you can see Monika (teacher) and Reka and Balazs (students) dressed for the Scottish summer! Luckily for them, the hospitality in Dunscore is warmer than the weather..
