A living jewel

I've been in the garden for much of the day trying to get as much done before the wet weather arrived. I've seen many pretty flowers some of which I've been potting on, so had a chance to look at them closely.

This Lavatera particularly caught my eye with its intricacy and striking radial patterns. It is the day for the Tiny Tuesday challenge, which this week was titled 'Jewellery'.  I don't have any jewellery and although I have objects I value, I thought this was a jewel of nature lasting but a few days and with a purpose, the propagation of the species.

I prepared my macro lens once again and took a series of pictures hand-held and I'm pleased with the results.
