Ruby tiger moth

It was dull, drizzly and cold today, such a contrast to the opressive heat of last week! I was tired after work, so apart from photographing the moths in my fridge I didn't bother going Blip hunting.
The Ruby tiger moth Phragmatobia fuliginosa is fairly common throughout the UK. It shows a gradual variation in colour with the brightest individuals found here in the south.
With quite a few plain brown moths around at the moment, I think the colour is rater stunning!
