Wet, wet, wet!

Today's walk was the big one, from Westward Ho to Clovelly. It is marked in the book as strenuous but we did it in pouring rain nearly all day and when it wasn't raining we were shoulder high in wet foliage. We arrived at our B and B at 4.30pm extremely bedraggled and another couple of walkers had just arrived before us. The owner offered to try and dry our clothes and also offered a lift down to one of the two pubs in Clovelly although they can only take you so far. If anyone knows the area, we walked up Wrinkleberry Lane twice and it was rather dark. Having walked the three miles along Hobby Drive which surrounds Clovelly at a higher level, it just went on and on. We clocked up just over 16 miles in total for the day and are pleased we are not walking any more this week. Has anyone tried to dry their boots with a hairdryer, only to get them wet all over again. Despite my complaints we did enjoy it and are looking forward to my planning our next section of the route.
I took the two photos on Clovelly street from the pub, it was too wet to use the camera for the rest of the day, we may have to return.
