New on the Bird Feeders

Lesser black-backed gulls have been nesting on our roof and have no doubt been watching small birds feeding in our town garden and the pigeons below hoovering up any spillage.

At first the seagull(s?) would chase away the pigeons looking for crumbs from the fat balls. But crumbs don't fill a seagull's crop, so they moved on to phase 2 where they shuggled the feeders hoping that any small fragments would fall out between the bars.

Now it (they?) have upped their game and are now taking bites out of the fatballs in the feeder. This is the first time in over 35 years in this house that I have observed such behaviour.
