Milngavie

A prosperous wee place. It is the starting/finishing point for the West Highland Way, 96 miles of scenery. So a day on the main street sees a constant flow of fresh faced hopefuls setting off, or tired sweaty midge ridden muddy arrivals. All with obligatory photo by the obelisk.

So far, so good.

Unfortunately the main street is blighted, cursed and plagued with two career beggars. One plays a screechy fiddle with an amplifying horn attached, the other an accordion. They play five or six tunes over and over again, non stop. Oh Susannah, Fur Elise, Kalinka and two others too dull to mention. It is enough to drive you mad.

MAD I SAY! Non stop, eight hours a day, every day.

Know what...they make an absolute sodding fortune.
