Life through the lens...

Climbing roses.

At last Summer has returned, and in our garden these climbing roses are looking their best.

Although cloudy this morning we have had blue sky and sunshine this afternoon.

This morning I visited the fruit farm for the first time this year.
We received an email while we were on holiday to say that they had started picking 10 days early.
However as it has rained almost none stop since we came home today has been the first day we could go and pick.
John said that it was going to be one of his best strawberry seasons ever, but then the rains came.
As I wanted gooseberries and raspberries there were plenty. It was awful to see so many of the strawberries soggy and going rotten.
A few people were picking the ones that were still edible.
John just seemed to accept it. I suppose farmers get used to the British weather. Hope he sold a lot before the rain came.
However the gooseberries were good. They aren't effected by the wet weather.
Just aren't very popular these days, but we love them.

This afternoon I did some more gardening, and managed to fill another two bags.
It certainly looks a lot tidier now.
Enjoyed tea and cake sat outside in the sunshine.
Hope this good weather will now last for a few days at least.
