Life through the lens...

Beeline

Flower Friday  "B".

I know this isn't very original, but I was so delighted to come home to a garden full of bees, as there were hardly any when we went away.

This one was one of many on this tiny alpine plant. " Geranium dalmaticum". The bee almost as big as the flower. They must certainly be attracted to the pollen, as they make a beeline for the flowers.
I bought the plant from a specialist alpine grower.  Slack Top Nurseries. above Hebden Bridge.
Planted it in my sink garden six years ago, and doing well.

Our local fruit farm opened today for the summer season.
Strawberries were hard to find. Need some sun!
However the gooseberries were the best they have had for years, They must like the rain.

So it's off to make a gooseberry pie for tonight's meal.
I make the pastry, ( actually have bought ready made today)  while MrC has the job of topping and tailing the berries. Not a job I like ( don't think he is too keen either.)

Hope you all have a good weekend, and the weather improves.
Temperature reached 20C here today!
