Vervet Monkey

Today's the day ........................ for something different

My sister-in-law Margaret is in Kenya for the weekend, which by anyone's standards is quite a long way to go for just a couple of days.  The only trouble is that she's working and so will have very little opportunity for any leisure activities, but I promised her that if she sent me a picture, it would be today's blip.  So here it is - something a bit different for me - a vervet monkey.

We got up early to witness another out-of-the-ordinary event.  The British Lions beat the mighty All Blacks 24 - 21in a wet and windy Wellington.  The last time this happened was in 2003 so it has been quite a wait.  It means that it's definitely 'game on'  for the final test in the series next Saturday with everything to play for.

And finally - another great unusual happening today.  Our hero, cyclist Geraint Thomas, has won Stage 1 of the Tour de France which started today - and will wear the yellow jersey tomorrow.

What a day ........................!
