Crazy About Birds

Praying Mantis

It's wineberry season - wineberries are a Japanese import that have escaped from wherever they started out - in peoples gardens, I suppose - and now grow wild all over the place here. They are delicious! They look a bit like raspberries, but they're shinier and stickier - and tastier, I think! Anyway, The Husband and I were grazing our way down the side of the hayfield on our return from our walk and I decided I might as well blip the berries. BUT! There I was, eating and taking a few photos with my iPhone, when - hello! What's this? A praying mantis amidst the berries! So although you can see some blurry wineberries, the focus is on the insect instead.
