Whitby Abbey

This morning was bright, sunny and a bit blowy.

We walked up the hill to the Abbey which went well - CyclopsJnr is fair coming on in his ability and willingness to walk long distances.  

He had a go of shooting a (wooden) vampire with a (wooden) crossbow (firing padded bolts).  Not sure how historically accurate that was, but very Whitby and good fun.  

He spent a happy three quarters of an hour running around the Abbey, climbing on things, rolling down grassy banks, and generally enjoying himself.  This was taken just before he polluted the peace with his boistering presence.

This was followed by ice-cream, a boat trip, a lifeboat museum, scampi, a funfair ride, arcades and fish and chips for dinner.  

A thoroughly lovely day.
