Backblip -

A walk down to Val-d'Isère today to see about doing the via ferrata, although the weather's not looking very hopeful and when we walked past there was a 'Closed' sign - possibly because there was a lot of work being done near to where the descent route comes out.  Oh well.

We had a drink in the only café that was open, and were entertained by a couple of sparrows flying in and out seeing if there were any crumbs going!

We were going to bus it back since one of our party was suffering with her heel, but there were no buses running and she decided to walk rather than take a taxi.  The rain, which had been intermittent in the morning, came down steadily all afternoon and so it was rather a wet walk back up through the woods.
