A Long Day

We knew today was going to be long but little did we know. Our Orienteering would take place after the World Champs Sprint Relay which started at 5:05. So with his in mind we decided to visit the Tartu University botanical gardens. We really enjoyed the visit.

We then spotted an event just about to start which had various obstacles along an 8 km route. We saw the start but then returned to the car to travel to our event about an hour away in Viljandi. The area took in the old castle ruins and older parts of the town with some seriously steep climbs.

We watched the team sprint and the highs and lows of the GB team. As we slipped from First to Sixth. The extras show Catherine Taylor on first leg and Ralph Street putting us in medal contention.

Unfortunately our race was put back by half an hour so I ended up running at 9pm. After all the excitement it was a tough ask to run at that time of night. A long drive back spotting Storks along the road side.

By the time we arrived back to our accommodation it was rather late but we just caught the sunset on the lake.
