Puffin

As we arrived into Lerwick it was cool and damp, but looked like it might brighten up. We decided to go to Sumburgh Head to see the seabirds as the forecast was quite good. It was bright when we got there and set off to see the birds; National Geographic says it’s the best place to see Puffins and it’s hard to disagree.  They have no fear and sit well within medium telephoto range; blip extra 1. My blip is of one flying in to land just below the lighthouse. The weather turned misty and damp, so we looked around the lighthouse before we went off to Jarlshof. It’s an amazing place and we were lucky enough to see it in the sun as the weather completely changed. The second extra is the sun going down at 22:15 near the tombolo to St Ninian’s Isle; a great view from the van.
