Breeding

I decided on a quick trip over to the Levenhall Links; as it was the first Monday of the school holidays, I reckoned most of the kids would be revelling in a long lie-in in their scratchers, rather than running about shouting and scaring the birds as they will be for the next 7 weeks.
A few sandwich terns, some linnet fledglings (thanks Bignonioides!) loads of reed buntings. A highlight was the return of the curlews, and some bar-tailed godwit, still resplendent in their beautiful brick-red breeding plumage. They're a favourite wader, but I have never managed to photograph them in their splendour before :)
