Drinker Moth

So named for the behaviour of the caterpillar which are said to drink dew drops. Relatively common in the South, far less so in the North. This one whilst tatty was large, over 2inches across. Rare to see out in the day.

A long fretful evening and night yesterday. A convoluted series of events meant that Pushka ended up ingesting some poison (totally her careless parents fault). Incredibly the packaging told you what to do if you got it in your eye - but offered no tips for ingestion. Fortunately Google, the vet helpline and my (human) First Aid knowledge all agreed on a course of action - so two pints of milk (with some chicken stock), and careful monitoring. We've never been so glad that she's a glutton.

Woken at 5am we were also very very glad of a tiled floor - but a fair price to pay for our inattention. This evening she's her usual mix of bouncy, bossy and aloof. Phew.
