Maiden's Modesty

Part of the fun of working as a Welcome Host at Waddesdon is getting to drive the mobility vehicle. It's lovely to be able to assist those who can't move around as freely as most of us and help them to enjoy the pleasures of Waddesdon. It's a decent walk down the main drive to the manor house and this little vehicle can help with that so people can save their energy for enjoying the grounds and house.

The mobility vehicle has to be parked out of view of the House - Lord R wants visitors to see the Manor as the first guests would have done and experience that 'wow' factor. I sort of agree with him as it's a magic moment to see and hear a visitor's first view of Waddesdon.  However, this little vehicle is tricky, no power steering and has to be parked on a curve. On a journey down to the manor it can get up to speeds of 10-15 mph, assuming there are no visitors obstructing the way!

It was a really busy morning with 5 coaches plus the usual buses coming from the car park, but things quietened down around lunch time. After parking the mobility bus (again) I took a few moments to observe the statute peering over the bus reflecting the fountain. I could do a whole RPS panel on reflections of Waddesdon.
