Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Camp day 2

Today we have running water in the cabin!!…after checking it out in the Tall house, we turned it on yesterday but the water guy had hooked it up to the wrong line and we thot there was still a leak so he had to come over this morning.  grrr.  Well, it’s still not clear so we may still have to get another filter going… but I can’t believe how nice it was to turn on the tap !! Or flush a toilet without carrying a bucket of rain water.

Camp:   pancakes of course.. tatum and fiona went for their personal best (28.5 and 17…they’re small thin swedish ones) and Nik lost count.   Then Oskar always wants to make his traditional chocolate chip cookies (while thewater guy was here working.)  the boys went to a nearby island to shoot baskets on their sport court, the girls played in the studio, fiona made a faerie house and a book about an art gallery, Tatum a pipe cleaner faerie.  then they painted a big board brown—will put a mural of sorts on it , maybe… After lunch H and E made an ice cream run and E and 3 kids were left at the Montague Park for the beach and trail (thank you E!!) while Oskar came back with H.    But I got to take the first lovely shower ( outdoor)  since May in my own house!!!! I don’t care that it’s not clear water… and take a nap to try to get well….(not yet.  couldn’t be worse timing…)    Many games were played and there are fun photos for flickr  (managed 2 extras)but this is my favorite from today of Nik and Tatum spending a lot of time planning and making the treasure hunt for this year… the cousins go to different schools and don’t get to see one another a lot so I love to have this time for them to be together.   This is camp # 8   Tatum and Nik spent many years in this bed on the sleeping porch,…. taken while I’m playing Bananagrams with Fiona at the table.  She’s really into it.     This is only Fiona’s 2nd year for camp so we are continuing the traditions for her altho with teenagers, it’s different…
Edit..after dinner Oskar took Fi and wallow talkies to the beach and told her stories which she repeated to me when she came back after the sun set saying " I like Oskar!"   Have no voice so tried an audible story of Norse myths ..not sure how that's going to go.

Too many words but it’s a record and I’m too tired to edit it.  Good night!
