Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Morning Beach

Today looked like the sunniest day all week so we headed to Morning Beach on Galiano’s east side….a tradition at camp.   Not easy to get these 4 going.. but we managed waffles at 10:00 and got to the beach by 11:15.!(still morning!)   but we didn’t realize the tide was out so far, this normally sweet little shallow cove was actually too shallow til it got to the eel grass.   but fun anyway..they played in the sand with their sand bomb game, sending Fiona way out to get water many many times. (that’s her returning in the middle..very cheerful to have an important job). Stopped on the way back to get watermelon and raspberries (which never made it past the boat ride..all gone) and ice cream cones.   A lovely quiet hour (plus! got to read my book!)) and H took the boys to shoot baskets at the neighbors' island (Nik loves to drive the boat and practice “docking”.) and Fiona and I played with her play mobile dolls (I even got to sit on the deck and knit a bit) and on our beach (she says we should make it public as it had more water —at 6PM and everyone could come and dock at our dock when the tide was high enough)…lots of crabs caught. …  Pizzas an easy BiIG HIT for everyone (the same!) for dinner… and the movie, Fi’s choice,  ET.     Late now .  I’ve given up even thinking about photos or anything else til they are in bed and then just one photo to upload slowly here for some reason …  tomorrow morning some rain is predicted so they were told to stay in bed as long as they possibly could !!  the one whom lasts the longest wins!  (wins what,?asks Fi.)—we’ll see how that goes…   Day 2… survived (better than ever.)   Kids are always better without the parents, yes?   Easier, for many reasons…

When H yells at them,  Oskar just says “oh, classic Grampa, again” !   He does yell at them, but he’s also pretty patient.   So far so good.
