Where the Light Gets In

"the place": creation
in the realms of circus and
theatre happenings

It's been nearly a year since "Le Lieu" ("The Place") was opened in a closed down old people's home belonging to the RATP (the company that manages the Parisian métro). Jean-Pierre took me there for a short visit as he's quite active there.

What is "Le Lieu"? The place where a theatre company has found a home, where they can create and rehearse. A set in Flickr will show you the happy jumble it still is; they've already done great work on some of the buildings (the most derelict is not in the set), painting, transforming an old petrol central heating into a wood furnace, and generally making the rooms livable, even in winter. They have rooms for visiting companies, too.
