Great Tapestry of Scotland

Today I popped in to see the Great Tapestry of Scotland which is on display at the Speirs Centre at Alloa.  have to admit it totally exceeded my expectations - the thing is HUGE and it covers every stage in scottish history from the formation of the planet to the current day.  Due to space restrictions in the Speirs Centre, half of the panels are quite high up around the library and the other half are on display in another room so you can get right up close and read the explanatory notes etc.   They swap over next week, so I will go back and see the other half too.  The stitching is amazing and the colours are wonderful - definitely worth a look.  This blip really doesn't do it justice - will try and get a better one when I go back again after the changeover.  Who knew tapestry could be exciting!!
