Big blue skies

A day of big blue skies. Quite a few clouds in the morning, but now as the sun sets it is perfectly clear and also perfectly still. Yellow light illuminating the old town and Calton Hill. Through the open door onto the balcony what I can hear - even over KD Lang playing - is bird song as well as a few passing cars.

So we headed to Aberlady Nature Reserve. We were last there in July 2011, when I blipped a teasel, but my album on Facebook (to which I have just added today's photographs) indicates that it was a similar day in terms of weather.

Other than a good walk, followed by a bacon roll and a cup of tea/coffee at the Gosford Farm Shop, today has been fairly quiet. I've made further progress with the ripping adventure this evening.

Edit: just uploaded an extra of the moon from the balcony. Now that would have made a good blip!

Edit in 2020: actually, it's nonsense, we were also there in 2012. But it was quite revelatory to realise that we hadn't been there since July 2017.
