Roman Forum near the Palatine Hill site, Rome

We arrived in Rome late in the evening and woke next morning to find that our lovely hotel was right beside the site of the earliest settlement in Rome, the Palatine Hill. For someone who loves old ruins and history it was just fabulous and I was in 7th heaven:) We got up early the first morning and went for a walk in the cool, and every sight was just stunning. All the major sites were in walking distance and every little corner presented something interesting.
