Allium seed heads

The alliums have started to shed their seeds. Each of the little pods is like a tiny jewel case which opens up to display the seeds inside. They'll stay like this until the birds or the weather shake the seeds out. It's a very simple, and perfect, example of how the process of growth reaches its last and first stages simultaneously.

Now we have to decide, do we leave the seed heads where they are for a winter display, or clear them out before they start to fall half over like an ancient pine forest?
