Russian Fleet Officer

... or Red Admiral.

Blip captured early today as this chap or chappess, perhaps newly emerged, was being warmed by the early sunshine as I ate my breakfast this morning.  So often a restless subject, I had the perfect opportunity to get up close.*

A decent sort of day.  Sunny but  not too hot, windy enough to be a good drying day - which sorted out what was job number one.  Onwards through the day saw the last of the cyclamen seedlings potted up and all the stuff of Ruth's left in the car after Jacinta brought her from college to her summer residence out in the Norfolk countryside, collected by her social worker for onward delivery.  I had to fetch a piece of signed for post from the main office which fitted in well with needing something from nearby Mousehold Garden Centre (a proper, locally owned business) and picking up some roof bars from the chap who sold us the replacement car at the garage opposite .... that worked out very well!

Lemon drizzle cake in the oven now so the day promises to end well :-)

* These macro shots are actually taken with a long lens then cropped for the detail I want.  Works OK judging by your favourable response ... the last one did briefly make the front pop page.
