Condos For Sale

The truth of the matter is the owners have been selling condos in this development since we arrived on the scene seven years ago. For many years the Sotavento Hotel was one of the few places to stay out on Playa La Ropa. Long-time visitors speak of the sloping floors, barely attached balconies, and other "oddities" that were trademarks of this hotel overlooking the beach. Someone got the idea to turn it into condos. Much demo work was done, but unfortunately little rebuilding has since been accomplished. I understand ownership has changed hands a couple of times since our arrival, with much promise of construction once again getting underway, but it continues to be about one quarter completed. No elevator, no pool, no restaurant (all things promised in the glossy brochure) and no occupants save for the salesman who mans the kiosk directly to the right of the sign in this photo during the height of gringo season.
