The Morning After ...

... the petals drop.

Clematis orientalis 'Bill Mackenzie', currently in bud, in flower and going to seed.  This one has been growing in this spot for over twenty years and this year its spreading further than ever after I failed to give it it's winter tidy-up.  Long blooming, attractive long lasting seed heads and it's generous nature make it a favourite plant.  An added bonus - it's dead easy to grow :-)

A morning spent with another specialist for Jamie and myself.  He came away boosted by some very positive feedback.  I came away with plenty to think about.  We spent the afternoon snuggled up together on the sofa watching another exciting stage of the Tour .... even the cat curled up and (unusually) stayed put for much of the time.  Peaceful.
