Abandoned

My weekend of 12 hour night shifts comes round ever more quickly ... which at least means the three weeks of normal sleep patterns also approaches :-)

We had a day in the garden while our new flooring was fitted in the entrance hall and dining room.  Toward the end of the day, Gill decided to cut down a Mahonia bush which is growing well, but not where she wants it to.  Inside she found this abandoned blackbird nest.  We had seen them going in and out of the bush in the early spring but disturbance from us and possibly magpies have pushed them into abandoning the nest and trying elsewhere.  Recently we have seen young blackbirds so hopefully they found a better place elsewhere :-)
