Another run in Mote Park

Last week hundreds of people ran for Cancer Research, today a smaller number were making an effort for the Big Run in aid of several charities including the Lupus Charity. Great admiration for all who participated in both events as for a lot of people running is not their first choice for physical activity.

The usual Saturday morning walk into town with the usual visit to the Library to collect, return books and pay my 6p fine for being 3 days overdue. (Over 60s pay 2p a day fine - 15p for everyone else) I was hoping to see my son Matt play cricket this afternoon but the game was cancelled owing to the opposition being unable to raise a side. Instead I made a start on painting the interior of the studio. I think it's going to require 4 coats which is an arm aching proposition. The topcoat can be applied with a roller but the combined knot seal, primer and undercoat made no mention of a roller. After painting just the ceiling with a brush I'm inclined to get a roller anyway.

Excellent dinner of fragrant stir fried pork from the 1997 Red Nose Day Cookbook, something I use regularly. People look soooo young there: Ainsley Harriot, Jayne Asher, Ken Holme, Gordon Ramsey to mention just a few.

Begun to get on with the detailed planning for the upcoming trip in September to Vancouver and Calgary and then on to San Diego. The route between the two places in planned now looking for campgrounds and planning the places we want to see.
