Allotment stall

The site management committee held a surplus produce sale at the allotments this morning in aid of Parkinsons. We donated some of our produce to the sale which raised over £80 for the charity. It was a good place to have the sale as it was adjacent to the carpark used by churchgoers at nearby Holy Cross. A captive audience when they came out!

Back to the humid weather again. particularly sweaty in the afternoon when we were back at the allotment clearing, pruning and picking and sowing still. A couple of rows of autumn carrots and a final row of dwarf beans.

Our walk this morning took us along country lanes around Otham. Mostly a pleasant experience with the exception of the short bit of Caring Lane where quite a few motorists fail to moderate their speed when passing walkers and some don't even acknowledge that we've climbed a bank to allow them to pass.
