Normandy Road Trip Day 5!!

A sunny start and end to the day, but a disappointing soggy, grey bit in the middle. But a more relaxing day, staying put in the same campsite for a second night so no need to pack up and move on. Today was the highlight of the trip for me, a visit to Monet's beautiful home and garden at Giverny, though half the world seemed to have had the same idea as me! La Roche-Guyon was next for a lunchtime cafe stop, before moving on to Vernon and it's medieval watermill. Back at base, we took an evening hike up to Château Gaillard for views over Les Andelys and the River Seine, then down into the village for aperitifs and a stroll along the river in the evening sun...

Top row: Monet's home at Giverny, the Château of La Roche-Guyon

Middle row: Vernon, Monet's water lilies and "the" bridge, shopping at the local market though I bought garlic rather than a cute little dog!

Bottom row: The River Seine and Château Guillard at Les Andelys

(Now on our way home on the ferry with wifi so chance for a second backblip!)
