The dear, old Queen.....

Every Monday morning it seems, I go into my Bank and go through the rigmarole of getting "new gold, for old"!    (Or at least a new fiver for an old one.)     I seem to find one every week.   It can't go on.

Did you know?   Although the old note was withdrawn in May, all will never be lost.   This statement from the Bank of England.....

From time to time, we withdraw old banknotes after they have been replaced by a new version. All withdrawn Bank of England notes remain payable at face value for all time. They can be exchanged for new banknotes at the Bank of England, either in person in London or by post. "
