A view from Jeanneb

Stepping out!

A super summer day!
Chris had a jacket from the Rohan sale to take back to the shop in Hebden Bridge so we set off this morning to do so.

First we stopped at Hardcastle Crags (National Trust) and did the Mill walk to Gibson Mill. The path follows Hebden Water though the trees so it was lovely to walk through dappled shade. We had a coffee at the Mill and then crossed by the pack horse bridge to the toilets in a small separate building on the other side of the water.
You pass three lots of stepping stones en route to the Mill and this is the third lot which we crossed to get back to the main return path. I love the clear rust coloured water and the symmetry of the stones themselves. You can see the view of the Mill from here in the extra.

Chris managed to get a better fitting jacket in the shop in Hebden Bridge for the same price as the one in the online sale so that was a result. We had lunch outdoors at the the Shoulder of Mutton in George Square. Far too much. A sandwich, salad and chips, I didn't even touch the bread!

I also used my Big British Butterfly Count app for the first time today. Saw a Tortoiseshell and a large white in Midgehole and another white in Hebden. Thanks Orchid99 for giving me a push.
