The Oak Bush Cricket (Meconema thalassinum)

I had to research this bug. It fell out of a tree I was pruning today and despite me having to go into the house and change lenses before returning, it was a very accommodating model.  My research tells me that in the U.S. its common name is the drumming katydid (what a cracking name).  I've added an extra just in case my research is wrong and there are experts out there that can put me right.

A day spent tidying the garden in very hot conditions.  In the end seven bags of cuttings were taken down to the local recycling centre.
