Life Savors

Niagara

We went to Niagara Falls today, which is obligatory if you are visiting the Buffalo/Niagara Region, and we were there along with the rest of humanity. This is, of course, one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S. and Canada.  We did not go to the Canadian side which has a better view of the Horseshoe Falls (seen here in the distance) because when we pulled out our passports to bring them on this trip, we discovered that they had expired that very day!  We are quite annoyed that we let this happen.  We are generally much better than this at staying on top of these things.

Anyway, even though we had been here before about 20 years ago, we decided to take the Maid of the Mist boat tour once again.  We don't usually do these touristy things anymore because we have done them with the kids years ago, but today this just seemed like the right thing to do and I have to say I don't remember it being quite as awesome as it was today. (Perhaps that's because the last time I was more worried about the kids going overboard.)  It is quite amazing to see.  I resisted photography while on the boat and only took a few shots because we were getting quite drenched from the mist from the falls.  This was taken from the observation deck after the boat trip.

After two days of posting landscapes, I am quite sure you can see that they are not my forte.
