Inspiration Point

....along the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park in Western New York State.  The park is sometimes called the Grand Canyon of the east.  While I could see no resemblance between this canyon and the Grand Canyon, it is still quite beautiful.  In this image, you can see the Middle Falls and in the distance the mist from the Upper Falls.  We hiked to the Middle and Lower Falls but could not go to the Uppers because of bridge construction and if you look closely (it's better in LARGE), you can see the cranes and bridge in the very far distance.

We drove about 1 hour from Buffalo to reach this park and took a terrific 5-mile hike.  Like a fool, I carried my tripod, hoping to get some slow water shots, but when we got closer to both falls, there was so much mist, the angle wasn't good and the setting just didn't lend itself well to a nice waterfall shot.  Because of the deep canyon, there was no way to get below the falls, and the shots from above just didn't capture them well.

Just a reminder that Tiny Tuesday is being hosted by Evolybab and the tag is TT112.  The theme is "faking it" and the explanation can be seen in her recent Blip.
