Wedding Couple, Hoi An, Vietnam

Day 20

Breakfast beside the pool, enjoying views across the river.

In the morning, we visited Ba Na Hills, a resort high in the mountains, west of Da Nang. Years back, the French built a hill station here. A new town has been recreated, with lots of walks, gardens, temples, three cable car systems taking visitors high up into the clouds.

From there to Hoi An. We spent time touring the old town, several shrines, and open houses. The internal open courtyards, and long, narrow buildings reminded me of Malacca, Malaysia. Very heavy rain. We did make it to the covered Japanese Bridge, and over the Hoai River. So many lanterns came on as night fell. Such beautiful colourful displays. A lot of couples posing for wedding shots. Lots in interest at every turn. I liked the bamboo bike in the extras.

Delicious dinner at Morning Glory II, then back to Da Nang, to enjoy the Dragon Bridge, and what looks like a Merlion, but we think it is a dragon, spouting out water.
